Two bodies found in a pond in Indiantown

Indiantown, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Martin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives are on scene at Indiantown Avenue and Warfield Boulevard after locating two unidentified bodies in a pond.

After a motorist saw the bodies and called in deputies responded.

The identities of the bodies are unclear at this time. Martin Co.

Major Cummings says the victims were adults, a male and female.  There is no cause of death at this time.

He said the bodies seemed to have been in the water for at least several days.

He also said it is too early to tell if the cause of death was suspicious or accidental.

Martin County Fire Rescue will have dive teams respond to the scene to see if there is evidence in the area to help determine the cause of death.

Autopsies to be done Tuesday morning.

Update: A car was also found in the water. Sheriff believe this was an accident but an investigation is forthcoming. Traffic homicide investigators will take over.
