CATCH OF THE WEEK – MIAMI DUO FINDS THEMSELVES TAKING THE #WRONGEXIT AND GETTING A PERSONAL MEET AND GREET WITH K9 NERO
As you know our K-9 Unit has been busy this summer hosting meet and greets with various summer camps and showing off their skills to our youth! Last night, K9 Nero was able to provide a personal meet and greet for a #wrongexit thief out of Miami.
While on patrol early this morning, K-9 Nero and his handler observed 2 suspicious vehicles on Kanner Highway. D/S Pearlman noticed a silver Ford Van, matching the description of a vehicle previously reported stolen out of the City of Stuart.
The van was followed by a GMC Envoy towing a boat. Once D/S Pearlman confirmed the van was in fact stolen, he attempted to get behind the vehicle. The driver of the van then took another wrong turn into the industrial park off Jack James Drive where D/S Pearlman was able to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver of the van made one last wrong turn, which found him at a dead end. He then jumped from the moving van and fled on foot, leaving the van to crash into a dumpster. After a short foot pursuit, 31 year old Dairon Corrada Ramos finally got his personal meet and greet and bite demonstration with K-9 Nero.
Thinking he was in the clear, 46 year old Ricardo Aragon-Machado, who was driving the GMC Envoy with the boat and trailer, continued onto I-95 where he headed south back to Miami. His attempt to get back to Miami was interrupted by D/S Tuttle who located him on I-95 near the 94 mile marker.
After the traffic stop was conducted D/S Tuttle was able to verify the boat and trailer were stolen from a boat yard in Stuart.
Dairon Corrada Ramos was arrested and charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Failure to Obey LEO Order to Stop, Obstruction without Violence, Driving while License Suspended and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. His bond is $11,500.
Ricardo Aragon-Machado was arrested and charged with Grand Theft. His bond is $40,000.
