Treasure Coast International Airport to Host Fire Fighting Training Exercise Jan. 27

LUCIE COUNTY – The Treasure Coast International Airport and Business Park is scheduled to host live fire training using a mobile aircraft fire training unit with the St. Lucie County Fire District, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Station 4, on Thursday, Jan. 27 on the terminal ramp starting around 9 a.m. running throughout the day.

This training will feature emergency response vehicles, sirens and other first responder equipment on and around the airport. Residents and businesses could see personnel and vehicles from the St. Lucie County Fire District, Sheriff’s Office and others traveling on and around the airport during the training events. The purpose of this training is to meet annual Federal Aviation Administration and National Fire Protection Association training standards while providing a safe and realistic training environment for airport firefighters.

Located at 3000 Curtis King Blvd. in Fort Pierce, the Treasure Coast International Airport and Business Park houses a variety of businesses that employ more than 3,400 people, generating more than $509 million in economic impact to the region annually.
