Looking for some eats on the water with perhaps the most expansive Seafood menu on the Treasure Coast? Make plans to head for Port Salerno. Seek out the docks area of the Manatee Pocket and you will find The Twisted Tuna Restaurant.

Everything about this restaurant is cheerfully nautical. The primary color of the decor is blue while the carpeting has an anchor pattern. And the views from the tables are of water, boats and docks. Even the pickets on the stair rails are fish, however they are painted in different colors.

Once inside, the staff is friendly and bustles you to your table. If the stars align, a table outside (on the dock) appears. An active bar scene is apparent, this bar is busy during the lunch hour, displaying all the earmarks of heating up later in the day.

The Menu

While viewing the water and ordering drinks, a thorough perusal of the menu is in order. The variety of seafood treatments are truly amazing. Several pages of menu detail seafood from sushi to fried platters to salads and pasta. There are even burgers, tacos and chicken dishes for the landlubbers among us. An interesting note about the menu; highlighted items include  gluten free, heart healthy, spicy, raw and signature dish. This is a Dock and Dine establishment, so arriving on a boat is fine and your personal fresh catch can be your dinner fare.

I ordered Seafood Cobb Salad for lunch. The salad ingredients, fresh and beautifully presented and the iced tea wonderful. The seafood in the salad, while lovely to look at, was not what I had anticipated. Meanwhile my dining partner raved about the Clam Chowder, consuming all before I got a taste. Her main course, Blackened Mahi, turns out fresh, delicious and perfectly flaky.

For a fun spot on the water, try the Twisted Tuna.
