SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 55-year-old Dodd Anthony Mitchell, of Cocoa, for having a sexual relationship with a student while he was employed as a teacher at Astronaut High School. The investigation was initiated last week.  Sheriff’s agents received information detailing a sexual relationship between Mitchell and a former student. This occurred between 2014 and 2016.

Mitchell was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit after a warrant was signed by Judge Roberts charging him with Sexual Battery of a person under 18 years of age while in custodial authority. Mitchell is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex with a bond of $250,000.
