St. Lucie County Solid Waste Unveils New Recycling Vehicle

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie County residents may see a new vehicle on the streets. The Solid Waste Division recently had one of its 2015 Ford Escapes wrapped to promote the new recycling app, which launched in September. The vehicle wrap was paid for with advertising funds provided by Waste Pro and is expected to last between 5 and 7 years.

Did you miss the launch of the app? Visit St. Lucie County’s Single Stream Recycling website (www.stluciecountyrecycles.com) to use the web app or download the new, free mobile app, St. Lucie County Recycles, for Apple (Apple App Store) or Android (Android Google Play Store) smartphones.

The app can be used to find out whether items may be placed into curbside recycling carts, garbage, dropped off at the St. Lucie County Landfill, or if any special instructions apply. Residents can learn how to recycle or dispose of materials ranging from aluminum foil, to acids, to cellphones. Simply type the name of a waste material to get started!

If anyone sees the newly wrapped vehicle, please let us know! Upload a picture and tag St. Lucie County or use the hashtag #stluciecountyrecycles.
