Southbound span of Roosevelt Bridge reopens

Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Traffic is now flowing along the southbound span of the Roosevelt Bridge. The southbound span has been closed for the past several months due to structural deficiencies, resulting in concrete falling from the south end of the southbound span. Repairs have since been made on the bridge, and now four of the six lanes for both northbound and southbound traffic are open.

Upon initial reopening, both the northbound and southbound bridges will be limited to two lanes of traffic. This configuration will allow for median modifications and sealing the deck of the northbound bridge.T

Truck restrictions on US-1 will be removed and the 5-ton gross vehicle weight restriction will be lifted. Detours will be removed and regular tolls on Florida’s Turnpike will be restored between Monterey Road and Port St. Lucie Blvd.
