Robbery Suspect Arrested in Fort Pierce

On March 15th, 2023, members of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested wanted subject, Travessa Merricks, in Fort Pierce.

Merricks had an active warrant for Robbery in Indian River County after an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.

During the investigation a victim reported to detectives they were robbed by Merricks when they left the Sun City Arcade with their winnings.

The arrest warrant ordered Merricks to be held on $100,000 bond.

Merricks has an extensive criminal history that includes prison sentences for carjacking with a deadly weapon, burglary, cocaine sale, flee and eluding, and trafficking in stolen property.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind criminals that if you commit crimes against our community you will be aggressively searched for and arrested.
