Register now for Martin County’s CARES

Register now for Martin CARES, the Citizens Academy and Resource Education Series offered by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners. The next class begins on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Citizens must register in advance to participate.

Over the years, approximately 2,200 citizens have participated in this insiders’ look into county government. Citizens who wish to familiarize themselves with the function and purpose of their local government are encouraged to register for Martin CARES. There is no charge to participate in the program.

In a series of sessions held over a six week period, citizens will hear presentations from all departments under the Board of County Commissioners and the County’s constitutional officers. Participants will spend a day touring several Martin County school and visiting County facilities, so plan to spend some time at a water treatment plant and the emergency operations center. Check out some of the highlights of the award-winning program in this short video produced by MCTV.

Would you want to watch planes take off and land from Martin County Airport? Or how about connecting with nature on a tour of a scenic park? If you answered yes to any of these questions, CARES is for you!
