PSLPD investigating shooting outside Cafe Hookah

Port St Lucie, Fla- On February 24, 2018 at around 1:50 am, two Port St. Lucie Police Officers were in the parking lot of Valero gas station located in the 700 block of SW Bayshore Boulevard when they heard several gunshots coming from a parking lot in the 800 block of SW Swan Avenue.  The parking lot is used for overflow parking for the Cafe Hookah, which is located in the 600 block of SW Bayshore Boulevard.

The officers immediately went to the area of the gunshots as people were leaving the scene. The arriving officers found 7 spent hand gun rounds in the parking lot but were unable to locate a victim.

The officers investigating the shooting scene  were notified that another officer  stopped the victim’s a car a short distance away on SW Bayshore Boulevard.  Officers observed several bullet holes in the victim car. Then they located an 18 year old male victim with three gunshot wounds sitting in the rear seat.

Preliminary investigation revealed there were 3 people in the victim car, front seat driver and passenger and the shooting victim in the back seat.  As the three were sitting in the car, after leaving Cafe Hookah, an unknown assailant opened fire using a .45 caliber handgun to shoot at least 7 rounds at the car.  The victim was shot in the arm, abdomen, and chest.  After the shooting the suspect fled the area.   The driver of the victim car left the scene in an attempt to get medical treatment when they were stopped by police.
