PSL Police investigating fatal crash in the 9000 block of S US Highway 1.
On July 6, 2017 at around 5:15 pm, Port St. Lucie Police went to the 9000 block of S US Highway 1 to investigate a crash between a Chevrolet Camaro and a Cadillac.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 20 year old Kyle Gunter (300 block of SW Dalton Circle, Port St. Lucie) was driving a white 2010 Chevrolet Camaro traveling north in the 9000 block of South US Highway 1. At the same time 76 year old Edward McCloskey (8000 block of 13th Hole, Port St. Lucie) was driving a silver 1999 Cadillac traveling south on S US Highway 1. McCloskey attempted to turn east into Eastport Plaza in front of Gunter’s car resulting in the front end of Gunter’s Camaro to collide into right front of McCloskey’s Cadillac.

McCloskey was taken to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead. Gunter was also taken to a nearby hospital. He is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Port St. Lucie Police Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing the investigation of this fatal crash.
