PSL man shot dead in his home

St. Lucie County, Fll  (treasurecoast.com) -A 39-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night at his home off Kitterman Road, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office officials.

Marcus Davis Leath died after two men with guns entered his residence in the 6500 block of Las Palmas Way, east of U.S. 1 in Port St. Lucie, and shot him inside his house, officials said. It’s unknown what time the shooting occurred.

St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives believe the shooting was a targeted incident, officials said, so there’s no danger to the public. Leath is listed as the house’s owner on the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser’s website.

Investigators from the sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit were at the scene Sunday. Yellow crime scene tape surrounded the home with two vehicles remaining in the driveway. Three of the unit’s vans were parked in the street.

The dead-end road is lined with single-family homes. Security cameras are located on top of a pole at the street’s entrance, but it’s unknown if they’re working.

No further details about the slaying were available Sunday afternoon. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office at 772-462-3230 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477.
