Shooting Suspect
Fort Pierce Police officers are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that left a Fort Pierce man in critical condition.
Diahann Denise King, 47, of 2000 N. 50th Street in Fort Pierce, is facing felony charges of attempted first degree murder and shooting a deadly missile in connection with an incident that occurred Friday, September 11, 2015.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., a Fort Pierce police officer was flagged down in the 1700 block of Avenue D in reference to a shooting at an after-hours club, located at 1721 Avenue D. King was identified as the suspect involved in a disturbance inside the business that escalated into the shooting, which injured Deforrest Swoope, 31, of Fort Pierce.
King fled the scene and is still at large.
Swoope was taken by a friend to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Swoope was working at the club when the shooting occurred.
