ONE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING SHOOTING NEAR 2100 BLOCK OF SOUTH 31ST STREET

Fort Pierce, Fl (treasurecoast.com) – The Fort Pierce Police is reporting that one person is hospitalized following a shooting near 2100 block of South 31st Street.
On March 5, 2022, at 3:00 a.m., the Fort Pierce Police Department responded to the 2100 Block of South 31st Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Once on scene, officers learned suspect Gary Clanton, 69, shot a 42-year-old male victim during an altercation. The victim was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and is currently in critical but stable condition. Clanton was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County jail charged with one count of attempted murder. This incident is an ongoing investigation, and there is no immediate threat to the community.
