New garbage cart deliveries begin, and waste collection schedule announced that’s simpler, easier-to-remember |
PORT ST. LUCIE – Positive changes are underway for residents, who will soon receive a new garbage cart to be used with the automated waste collection service starting the week of Sept. 5.
Cart deliveries will begin Aug. 1 and are expected to be complete by Aug. 26. In addition, the City’s new, simplified waste collection schedule (that starts Sept. 5) is available at www.cityofpsl.com/solidwaste.In preparation for the new program’s launch, City residents on the east side of Florida’s Turnpike will begin receiving their new garbage cart next week, Aug. 1. Residents on the west side of the turnpike will receive theirs in mid- to- late August. The carts will be delivered to residents’ curbs along with a disposal and usage tips brochure.
Residents must begin using their new garbage cart during the week of Sept. 5, on their designated pick-up day. If there is an immediate need, residents can use the new cart prior to Sept. 5.In the meantime, FCC Environmental Services Florida, our new hauler, has released its simplified waste collection schedule, and residents only need to remember one day. Household trash, recycling and yard waste will be collected once a week on the same designated day. Bulk waste will be collected once a month on the same designated day. That schedule will be coming soon.
