Multiple Drug Arrests on Okeechobee Rd
St Lucie County, Fla-St. Lucie County arrest records from last Wednesday and Thursday show 10 FHP drug arrests near S.R. 70, which is also called Okeechobee Road.
Florida Highway Patrol stepped up its presence along State Road 70 as the Okeechobee Music Festival drew thousands of travelers to the road just this past weekend.
Each day through yesterday, the last day of the festival. The detail of troopers from the Contraband Interdiction Unit and Last year, 99 people were arrested on drug-related charges as part of a “highway interdiction operation” planned around the festival.
The arrests came during the first two days of the sold-out festival, with most occurring on or near Okeechobee Road.
Drugs recovered included hallucinogenic mushrooms, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, synthetic marijuana, LSD, hydrocodone and heroin, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
