MSCO identifies man suspected in Multiple”Peeping Tom” cases in Palm City

Martin County,Fla-  The man suspected of peering into the window of a young girl was identified as 60-year old Douglas Towns of Palm City. Towns told detectives this case of voyeurism wasn’t his first time.

Towns lists his address as homeless.  He confessed to multiple instances of peeping into windows of women and children throughout Palm City. Towns said he did this for the past three years. He told detectives he recalls at least one dozens instances where he would look into windows of woman and children while they undressed. Towns said, in some cases he would masturbate while watching his victims. Towns would frequent neighborhoods off of St. Lucie Shores Drive. It was a neighbor of the victim who saw Towns running from the bushes of the home who was able to give detectives a good description of the “Peeping Tom”.

Detectives set up surveillance teams and began monitoring communities in that area. After further investigation, MCSO Detective Derek Brieske was able to identify, track then question Towns. Detective Brieske immediately obtained a warrant for his arrest. Last night, MCSO warrants detectives located Towns and took him into custody. He is being held without bond until his first appearance. He will be charged with one count of voyeurism and burglary.
