MCSO JOINS EFFORTS TO SEARCH FOR SUSPECTED MURDERER
Martin County-The Martin County Sheriff’s Warrants and Criminal Investigations Units are actively involved in the search for Larry Peavy. He is a fugitive wanted out of Sumter County, Florida. Peavy is wanted for the rape and murder of a 16-year old girl. That occurred over the weekend in Sumter County. Prior to killing the young girl, Sumter County Detectives say he also sexually assaulted a second teenager in the same area.
Martin County Sheriff’s Warrants Detectives did receive information that Peavy was spotted. He was seen on foot in the area of Wright Boulevard and US 1 late Tuesday night. That information could not be verified. Detectives spent several hours canvassing the area in search for Peavy to no avail.
