MCSO investigates shooting at Stuart governments buildings

MCSO investigates shooting

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation of three government buildings that have been shot at.

Employees at the elections office were shocked to find the front window shattered from a bullet hole. This was  discovered this Monday morning when they arrived at work. Two other bullet holes left dents in the door framing just feet away from where employees work.

Nobody was inside the building when three rounds were fired with a high powered pellet gun.

This isn’t the first incident over the last couple weeks. A bullet hole damaged a window at the courthouse in the records division last week. The veterans service building was also targeted.

MCSO Investigates

The sheriff’s office believes the same person or group is responsible.  Surveillance from the elections office shows a car drive by and a person in the vehicle starts shooting at the building. The sheriff’s office is following a few leads to identify a suspect. The individual could face felony charges.
