Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com) The Martin County Sheriff  reported a Port St. Man arrested for grand theft auto, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding.
Here are the details:
MORNING RIDE TURNED TO MORNING HIDE FOR RECKLESS CAR THIEF
The odds were against 33-year old Travis Wallen Shearer the moment he jumped into a stolen pick-up truck and traveled into Martin County.
Still, Shearer, of Port St. Lucie took a chance despite being on probation for fraud. Criminal Investigations Detectives were already searching for the stolen pick-up truck with Arizona plates. It wasn’t long before they found it at the intersection of Westmorland Boulevard and NW Federal Highway. The detective attempted a traffic stop, but Shearer wasn’t going to have it.
Instead of stopping, he recklessly took off putting multiple motorists at risk. For the public’s safety, the Sheriff’s Office terminated their pursuit of the Shearer but he continued to drive recklessly until he crashed. With charges against Shearer mounting by the minute, he decided to try his hand at running on foot. Travis Shearer couldn’t beat the perimeter, and was arrested a short time later.
Travis Wallen Shearer was charged with grand theft auto, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding with no regard for others safety, and violation of probation. He was taken to the Martin County Jail without bond. #WrongExit
