Martin County Sheriff gives kudos to one of their detectives

“If you follow our Facebook page, you know that the past two weeks has been extremely busy for our Criminal Investigations, Forensic, Road Patrol and Community Operations Teams.

MCSO responded to two very complex homicides, both within days of each other. In all such cases, every single person on scene plays a crucial role in the search for justice for any victim.

But we would like to recognize Crime Scene Detective Mark Weaver, who played a remarkable role in both cases.

Detective Weaver went from operating heavy equipment to dig around an underground septic tank, to moving through septic waste water to carefully retrieve the victim with as much care and dignity as possible. At the same time, he collected and preserved the evidence which helped lead to her killer.

Days later, Detective Weaver was on sniper duty protecting the MCFR Dive Team, FWC, and MCSO Investigators as they risked their own lives searching for human remains in alligator infested waters. Detective Weaver then went to work with his team collecting that evidence, in hopes of identifying the victim so our detectives can begin the task of finding those responsible. His contribution to both cases was top rate.

The work is never easy, but this team wouldn’t trade what they do for anything. One Team-One Fight.
