Man on his way to Okeechobee Music Fest arrested on burglary and drug charges

Andrew Andere, 25, was arrested yesterday for burglarizing an occupied dwelling and possession of various narcotics while on his way to the Okeechobee Music Festival.

Andere broke into a home in the 2300 block of South Brocksmith Road while the homeowner was in the shower. When the homeowner found him, he fled and was found one street over on Matthews Road.

When deputies arrested Andere, they found an admission gate wristband for the Okeechobee Music Festival, along with 7 grams of powder cocaine. Inside his car was 25 strips of LSD paper, liquid LSD, and various types of drug supplies. Andere admitted to detectives that he was on his way to the music festival.

Andere was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, assault with intent to do harm, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, resisting an officer with violence, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked in the St. Lucie County Jail with a $72,750 bond.
