MAIL THEFT REPORTED IN JENSEN BEACH AREA

MAIL THEFT REPORTED IN JENSEN BEACH AREA, WARNING TO ALL RESIDENTS ABOUT PERSONAL INFORMATION

This is an important message from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for residents in the Jensen Beach area:

Deputies are investigating the theft of personal mail stolen from residential mailboxes in the Jensen Park Estates Community. At least 13-mailboxes were tampered with. It appears thieves are targeting mailboxes that have the flag raised indicating there is outgoing mail to be picked up. Consumer bills have been stolen, with personal checks written as payment. This gives thieves access to your credit card and bank account information.

The sheriff’s office is warning all residents to avoid putting personal outgoing mail in your mailbox, especially overnight. This will help safeguard your personal information.

If you have any information about the thefts of this mail, or believe you may also be a victim, please contact the martin county sheriff’s office at 220-7170. A code red call has been issued in the Jensen Beach area.

Thank you, and have a safe new year.
