Lake O discharges worse than we thought
Martin County, Fla- Discharges from Lake Okeechobee in 2017 could have been worse than previously thought. Treasure Coast Newspapers reports that new data from the South Florida Water Management District show that the discharges to the St Lucie River totaled 192 billion gallons. That’s 58 billion gallons higher than the previous numbers from the Army Corp of Engineers. The updated numbers makes 2017 ninth on the list of largest discharges since 1965.
