IRC Sheriff:Driver ignores dead end sign, causes crash with train

Indian River County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Indian River Sheriff has reported that a driver ignored a dead end sign and caused a  crash with a train.

This is what they said:

“Overnight, a driver was traveling westbound on 87th Street from U.S. 1 and failed to stop at dead end of 87th Street. His vehicle got stuck on the railroad tracks and he got out.
The passing northbound train struck the vehicle and pushed it off of the railroad tracks. The driver was not injured.
He appeared to be intoxicated. The 85th Street train crossing was blocked for some time. The train was released thereafter and the crossing reopened.
IRCSO is investigating the accident and DUI. FEC also responded.”
