Indian River: Nov 1 deadline to request ballots by mail

Indian River County, FL – Leslie Swan, Supervisor of Elections for Indian River County, reminds all registered voters in the Cities of Sebastian and Vero Beach that they have until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1st to request a ballot to be mailed for the November 7th Municipal Elections.

Requests can be made online at VoteIndianRiver.com, by phone by calling (772) 226-3440, in person at the Elections Office, or by mail. The Indian River County Elections Office is currently delivering vote-by-mail ballots. They will continue mailing ballots upon request, as long as the request is received by the November 1stdeadline.

A permanent drop box is available at the Supervisor of Elections office. This is for after-hours delivery of voted ballots.  Voters may mail their ballot to the Elections Office, which requires $0.49 postage.  Ballots must be received by the Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Vote-by-mail ballots are not permitted to be sent to an address other than the address on file with the Elections Office, without written authorization from the voter.  The certificate on the backside of the return mailing envelope must be signed.  The voter’s signature must match their signature on record in order for the ballot to be counted.

Florida law allows any qualified voter to request a vote-by-mail ballot. All vote-by-mail ballots will be canvassed despite closeness of any race.  To check the status of your mail ballot, visit www.voteindianriver.com and click “Vote-By-Mail Ballot Tracking”.
