Some Indian River County Beaches will open Tuesday, April 28th
Indian River County (treasurecoast.com)- Indian River County will re-open the guarded beach access points within the County on the morning of Tuesday, April 28th for essential activities during regular operating hours. The guarded beaches within the County include
Golden Sands (this beach was closed before not sure if it will be open)
Additionally, the City of Vero Beach and the Town of Indian River Shores beach access points will also re-open on the morning of April 28th for essential activities.
Permissible beach access will be limited to the following essential activities:
-Running
-Walking
-Swimming (including wading and floating)
-Surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking where currently allowed; and
-Exercise activities that can be completed while following proper social distancing guidelines.
The following items will be prohibited on the beach until further notice:
-Blankets
-Chairs
-Coolers
-Beach Umbrellas
-Tents
When visiting the beach to participate in those permitted activities listed above, please remember to abide by social distancing guidelines, stay six feet away from non-family members, and do not congregate in large groups consisting of more than ten people.
County staff will be present at the newly opened beaches to help educate beachgoers and provide guidance regarding those permissible or prohibited activities and items.
