Home invasion suspect drove himself to jail in stolen Jeep

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -On June 4, 2020,  Port St. Lucie Police arrested forty-year-old JAMES MICHAEL SIMPSON.  James M. Simpson was charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery/Home Invasion with weapon, Aggravated Battery-on person 65 years of age or older, and Grand Theft of Motor Vehicle.

Home invasion suspect drove himself to jail in stolen Jeep

 Simpson became aware through social media that he was wanted by PSL Police. This was after he saw photos of himself on the PD Facebook/Twitter posts. Then,  he drove himself,in the victim’s Jeep, to the St. Lucie County Jail.  PSL Police interviewed him and a confession was obtained. He is currently housed at the St. Lucie County Jail.
