FPUA Board Votes to Delay Electric Disconnections

FPUA Board Votes to Delay Electric Disconnections

Fort Pierce, FL, October 23, 2020 – At the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) Special Meeting, the Board voted to delay electric disconnects until further information is reviewed at their November 17 meeting. This allows FPUA customers additional time to seek and receive assistance from COVID-19 relief programs. “We believe the decision of the Board provides our customers additional opportunities to make payment arrangements to avoid disconnections in the future”, said Charlie Frank Matthews, Board Chairman. “We will continue to evaluate program enhancements to assist our customers through the pandemic.”

FPUA will continue to waive late fees and charges through December 31, 2020. FPUA will begin offering a good faith payment program immediately. Residential customers with existing payment arrangements that make a good faith payment equal to 25% of their bill (up to a maximum of $100) will receive a modified payment plan. Commercial customers with existing payment arrangements that make a payment equal to 25% of their bill will also receive a modified payment plan. Please contact Customer Service at 772-466-1600, x 3900, to discuss the available opportunities.
