Fort Pierce detectives charge two men in shooting, seek third suspect

Fort Pierce police detectives arrested two men Thursday who were wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Avenue D and 12th Street on Jan. 12, and are seeking a third suspect in the incident.

Arrested Thursday were Luckson Cadet, 24, and Polo Delva, 29. Both men are from Fort Pierce and were charged with attempted first degree murder. Detectives have a warrant for a third suspect, Fred David Boston, 26, whose address is in the 400 block of North 15 Street, in Fort Pierce.

On Jan. 12, all three men were in a car near Avenue D and 12th Street when they saw Elliott Byrd, 22, walking on 12 Street at about 2 p.m. All got out began shooting at Byrd, who shot back at them. Luckson was grazed in the head at that time and was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

On Jan. 17, Byrd was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at his home in the 1400 block of North 22 Street. He was shot sometime early that morning. Detectives are working to determine if there is any connection between the two incidents.

Boston, who is not in custody, is a black male, 6 feet 4 inches tall, about 220 pounds. Anyone who may have information about Boston’s location or the incident is asked to call 9-1-1.
