Fort Pierce Citizens Academy Begins February 11
The City of Fort Pierce is now accepting applications for the 3rd Annual Fort Pierce Citizens Academy beginning February 11, 2016. The Citizens Academy is a free, hands-on, interactive public information program that familiarizes residents with city services and provides a clearer understanding of municipal government.
Participants will:
o Meet the City Commission, department heads and staff
o Enjoy comprehensive overviews of departments and programs and services
o Discover the current status and future plans for City of Fort Pierce development, projects and other topics
o Learn how decisions are made, city funds are allocated and departments operate
o Participate in lively discussions and fun interactive activities
o Visit city facilities
o Become an informed, involved citizen

The program consists of seven (7) consecutive sessions beginning February 11 and culminating with graduation at the March 21, 2016 City Commission meeting. It is open to anyone aged 17 or older who lives, works, attends school or owns property in Fort Pierce. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis with an application deadline of February 9, 2016.
