Fatal car crash in Jensen Beach at U.S. 1, Eugenia Street

Jensen Beach, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal car crash at 10: 16 a.m. Monday at the Northwest Eugenia Street and Northwest U.S. 1 intersection.

Northbound Federal Highway at NW Eugenia Street is still closed according to the Martin County Sheriff. Traffic is backed up. Expect heavy delays at least until 4p.

Location: US-1 (State Road 5) & NW Eugenia Street 

Northbound blocked at this time.

Vehicle 1 – 2017 Infinity G60 2-Door

Vehicle 2 – 2021 Chev Colorado Pickup truck

Persons involved:

Driver of Vehicle 1 (D-1) – Male, 22 YOA; Port St. Lucie, Florida; Incapacitating Injuries (NOK NOT MADE)

Driver of Vehicle 2 (D-2) – Male, 40 YOA; Port St. Lucie, Florida; Fatal Injuries (NOK NOT MADE)

V-1 was traveling northbound in the second left lane on US-1 (State Road 5) north of NW Eugenia Street. V-2 was traveling southbound in the left turn lane on US-1 (State Road 5) north of NW Eugenia Street. V-2 began making a left turn to travel east into to driveway for the Exxon gas station located at 4287 NW Federal Hwy, Jensen Beach, Fl 34957. The front of V-1 collided with V-2’s right side. Both V-1 and V-2 came to final rest on the right shoulder. D-2 succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the traffic crash and was pronounced deceased at the traffic crash scene by  Martin County Fire Rescue personnel. 

This is still an ongoing investigation.
