Drone Unit and K9 Jaxson finds Fleeing Suspect in Woods on I-95 After Car Breaks Down

At 10pm last night, Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence involving a female suspect who had just committed several felony crimes. The woman left the scene but it didn’t take long for our alert Officers to find her vehicle in the SLW Walmart Parking Lot. Knowing she had just committed several crimes, the suspect immediately fled from Officers and began to travel northbound on I-95.

The suspect’s plan to flee from Officers didn’t quite work out…Her vehicle began to smoke heavily and became disabled in the median on I-95 near Midway Rd. Still determined to avoid apprehension, the suspect then bailed out of the vehicle and ran into the woods. Well, as you can imagine that didn’t work out either for the suspect.

Officer Faleiros deployed his drone above the area and spotted the suspect hiding in the thick woods. He then directed K9 Officer Krecic and his partner K9 Jaxson right to the suspect where she was taken into custody.

25-Year-Old Skylar Ariza of Miami Beach was arrested and taken to jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding and resisting an officer.
