5 people dead and two injured in fiery collision in Ft Pierce

Ft. Pierce, Fl- Five people are dead and at least two more were injured in a crash near Fort Pierce late Friday night.  The crash left one of the vehicles in flames with the occupants still inside.

This is from the report provided by FHP:

This accident happened on 11/24/218 at 10:41 PM.  Tanner Ray Dashner, 24, was driving his  2004 GMC Yukon south on South 25th Street approaching Midway Road in St. Lucie County. V- 2 was traveling south on South 25th Street behind V-3 approaching Midway Road.  There were five people in vehicle 2.  Vehicle 3 was Dalton Young, 27, of Port St Lucie. There was one passenger.

Dashne approached V-2 and Dalton Young at a higher rate of speed. Dashne struck the the rear of V-2 causing the front of V-2 to strike the rear of Young. Dashne slid off the west shoulder of the roadway and came to final rest facing south near the SW corner of the intersection. The impact caused V-2 to rotate clockwise while sliding south and came to final rest on the west shoulder of South 25th Street south of the intersection. The impact caused V-2 to become fully engulfed in flames. Five occupants of V-2 were pronounced deceased on scene. Dalton Young traveled south after impact and came to rest south of the intersection near Gray Twig Lane.

Once the identity of the occupants of V-2 is obtained and Next of Kin is notified, FHP will update the press release. The crash remains under investigation.
