Bunk House Coffee Bar
Downtown Jensen Beach didn’t know what it was missing until Bunk House Coffee Bar opened last Fall. Located on the south side of Jensen Beach Boulevard near the traffic circle. The Bunk House sits amongst the freestanding cottages that house artists’ galleries, antique shops and boutiques. A spot to stop and smell the roastings (coffee) is a welcome addition to the mix. The Bunk House is a good place to kick back for awhile enjoying a beverage, snack or lunch. Seating is available inside at the bar or Living Room area. Tables are available outside as well where dogs are welcome.
The feel of the place is vintage coffee house. Complete with a barista surrounded by an array of complicated devices to brew beverages. Food is on trend with organic everything. Coffee, tea, baked goods, and lunch salads are on the menu. The variety of gluten free and organic foods are impressive. Acai Bowls and fruit smoothies are clearly a major attraction. Consequently, I noted a steady stream of customers collecting their superfood fix while at the bar.
Mouthwatering display of muffins
My husband and I stopped in for a snack this week and were greeted by a friendly barista. Our attention began wondering focusing on a mouthwatering display of muffins. My only concern – I wish for smaller muffins thus we could try more flavors as two seemingly disappear off the serving board. We deemed the Peach Cobbler our favorite muffin, featuring large chunks of peaches while sporting a moist cakelike interior and crunchy sugar nut streusel topping.
The coffee is fair trade, organic and made to order. My husband is decaffeinated coffee drinker. The barista recommends french press decaf advising it takes four minutes to make. The wait was worth it for the coffee producing a mild, creamy cup of Joe, complementing the muffin perfectly.
The Bunk House Coffee Bar is great spot to stop in for a coffee or something healthier fix.
