Beware! New Phishing Scam for Chase Bank!

Beware! New Scam for Chase Bank!

A Chase Bank phishing scam is targeting customers and their money. The latest scam is different from the others, because of how real it looks. Renee James of Royal Palm Beach received one of these phishing emails. She didn’t get fooled, but said she is afraid others will fall victim.

The suspicious e-mail had the subject line: “Thanks for calling us. Welcome to the Chase Customer Claims Secure Document Exchange,” then provides specific instructions. The fake message asks customers to click on a link, and type a temporary password they provide. The link sends the customer to a third-party website. Chase Bank says they will never email customers asking to click on a link about a claim, or to receive documents.

If you receive anything suspicious like this, call the bank, not the number listed on the e-mail.
