WOMAN RESCUED OUT OF CANAL IN FT PIERCE

Ft Pierce, Fl (treasurecoast.com) On 11/04/2021, around 7:15 a.m., Fort Pierce Police Department Officers responded to South 25th Street and Tennessee Avenue in reference to a female subject trying to enter vehicles.
Once on scene, officers observed the woman jump into a canal near the 2200 Block of Virginia Avenue. An extensive search of the area revealed the lady had gotten stuck in a trench between Virginia Avenue and Wyoming Avenue. Officers and the St. Lucie County Fire District were able to remove her from the piping.
The woman was taken to Lawnwood for precautionary measures, and no criminal charges are pending at this time.
