Woman accused of violently attacking shoppers in Martin County arrested

Stuart, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -On 12/29/2022 in a coordinated investigative effort between the Stuart Police Department and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Calene Gabriel was arrested for an unprovoked attack on two victims. The first attack occurred at 2555 NW Federal Highway (Best Buy) in the City of Stuart jurisdiction. The second attack happened across the street at Total Wine 2550 NW Federal Highway which is Martin County Jurisdiction.
Gabriel was apprehended last night and arrested for aggravated battery and aggravated battery on an elderly person. Gabriel is being held at the Martin County Jail.

Two cases, and two unprovoked violent attacks caught on store security cameras prompted an aggressive search by Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives and Stuart Police which ended in the capture of 33-year old Calene Gabriel.
Watch this footage provided by Stuart Police as Gabriel targets her victim, pulls in behind the victim’s vehicle at Best Buy plaza in Jensen Beach, which is the city of Stuart’s jurisdiction, then viscously starts beating the women in an unprovoked attack. The victim was seriously injured. One hour later, Gabriel attacked a second person in the same manner at the shopping plaza across the street which is MCSO’s jurisdiction.
Through a joint investigation, Calene Gabriel of Ft. Pierce was tracked down and arrested last night. (upper corner of the screen). She was taken to the Martin County jail and charged with Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Battery on a person 65 or older.
