Waiting for jury in the Noor Salman case

The jury deciding the fate of Noor Salman, the widow of Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen, will reconvene this morning at 9am.

Salman is facing charges of obstruction and providing material support to a terrorist organization.

Prosecutors say Salman knew about the attack at the nightclub and helped her husband plan it and scout potential locations, which included Disney and CityPlace in West Palm Beach, before deciding on the Orlando nightclub.

Mateen, who lived in Fort Pierce at the time of the shooting, killed 49 people before being killed in a shootout with police.

Salman’s attorneys tried to get a mistrial after court documents revealed Mateen’s father worked as an FBI informant for more than 10 years.

Salman faces up to life in prison if convicted.
