Volunteers are needed to help conduct an annual count of people experiencing homelessness throughout the Treasure Coast

Volunteers are needed to help the Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council and St. Lucie County Community Services conduct an annual count of people experiencing homelessness throughout the Treasure Coast for the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count.
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires Continuums of Care conduct an annual count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January, including those who are homeless, living in vehicles or in the streets or vacant lots, sheltered in emergency shelters, transitional housing and safe havens.
The PIT Count for Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties will reflect those experiencing homelessness during a specific 24-hour period during the last 10 days of January 2023. Regionally, the PIT Count will take place from noon on Thursday, Jan. 26 to noon on Friday, Jan. 27. Roughly 75 to 100 volunteers across the three counties are needed for this project.
If you would like to be part of the 2023 Point-in-Time Count, please complete the online form (https://46c9b6.a2cdn1.secureserver.net/…/POINT-IN-TIME…) and return it to Martie Halloran at martie@tchelpspot.org.
