Vero Beach: Woman leaves children in hot car to visit arcade.

A woman is facing child abuse charges after deputies say she left her two young children in a hot car to play in an arcade in Vero Beach.

On Saturday  a woman heard a baby screaming and crying in the parking lot of Winn Dixie. The witness told investigators she drove around and found a silver Mitsubishi SUV in front of the Magic Palace Arcade. She walked up to the car and saw a 3-month-old baby in a car seat, crying and sweating. She also saw a 3-year-old girl who smiled and waved at her. The windows were down about half way and the engine car was not running.

The first responding deputies said the baby was sweating profusely. They said that temperatures inside the car were measured at 99 degrees. A short time later, the children’s mother walked out of the Magic Palace Arcade. Anthonecia Teague told deputies she was only inside for a few minutes. She was arrested and held on a $10,000 bond.
