THE VERO BEACH PIRATE FESTIVAL – 300 YEARS IN THE MAKING
VERO BEACH, FLORIDA – The 2nd Annual Vero Beach Pirate Fest will take place Friday, July 29th through Sunday, the 31stat Riverside Park in Vero Beach.
The event was created to bring pirates and patrons from across the nation together with the local community over the loss of the 1715 Treasure Fleet, and to celebrate why this area is called “The Treasure Coast”. The Vero Beach Pirate Festival is truly “300 Years in the Making”
This 3-day, family friendly event features pirate bands and performers, living history pirate encampments, pirate weapon displays, mermaids, costume contests, a little buccaneer kids zone, nautical, pirate themed and arts and crafts vendors, roving performers and live music. In addition, it will feature world famous treasure hunters, historians, artists, authors and an abundance of pirate enthusiasts that will converge to share their stories and exhibits depicting pirate lore and the never ending quest for gold.
While at the festival, patrons can indulge in some delectable dishes, tasty libations, frozen treats and delicious cuisine from a hand selected list of food vendors.
There will also be pirate themed exhibitions featuring weaponry and all things piratical, including a Pirate’s Ball Friday evening for adult’s 18 and older. Ticket required.
The Vero Beach Pirate Festival is held under the shade of 300 year old oak trees at beautiful Riverside Park located at 3258 Riverside Park Drive Vero Beach, FL 32963
Festival Hours: Friday 2pm to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 8pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
Festival Admission is Free – though a voluntary $2.00 “Buck-N-Ear” admission is greatly appreciated.

Learn from the expertise of Carl Fismer, one of the most respected and knowledgeable Spanish coin experts and treasure diving professionals in the world.
Meet Captain Mike Daniel whose most renowned discovery includes finding the Queen Anne’s Revenge, which was the flagship one of the most feared pirates, Blackbeard.
Visit with Pirate Artist Michael Noles, designer of the Blackbeard’s Booty Rum label and creator of the pirate art series, the “High Seas Collection”.
Meet Allen Balogh, historian and the author of the book “Black Sails 1715” a historical novel inspired by the fate of the 1715 Spanish Fleet that sank along Vero’s coast.
Visit with Sir Robert F. Marx, an American scuba diver pioneer; described as “the true father of underwater archaeology”, excavated the sunken city of Port Royal, Jamaica. He also did extensive work on the 1715 Fleet shipwrecks and has written more than 65 books on lost treasure.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s festival will benefit local 501(c)(3) charity the “Vero Beach Lifeguard Association” and the “Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach”
Additional offsite activities include several nightly after hours pirate parties at JJ’s Sports Bar and Grille at the Vero Beach Inn & Suites and the Riverside Café from 10:30pm to close. There will also be a Nautical Art Show featuring works from the Vero Beach Art Club held from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, located across the water from the festival at Royal Palm Pointe followed by a Island Party at Royal ‘Rum’ Pointe Fountain from 7pm to 10pm with Island music, a costume contest, and rum tasting. A Water Taxi will shuttle guests between the docks at Riverside Café and the Fountain docks at the Pointe.
