Update on shooting at Grove Apartments(Suspect identified)

Port St Lucie, Fla- Port St Lucie Police are at Grove Apartments investigating the shooting. It happened at the 2000 block of SE Lennard Road.

On December 2, 2017 at around 3:15 pm, Port St. Lucie Police were called to the Grove Apartments for reports of a shooting.

Through the investigation police learned that there was a scuffle between two 16 year old males.  During the altercation the suspect, later identified as 16 year old Namond Kevon Moxey, shot the 16 year old male victim with an unknown firearm.

The suspect was seen fleeing the area on foot through the apartment complex.  The victim was taken to the hospital by a family member where he is being treated for his wounds.

Port St. Lucie Police SWAT is on scene as police believe Moxey may be in an apartment within the complex.

Residents in the area are advised to stay inside their homes or avoid the area until the situation is brought to a conclusion.
