It’s a gruesome testimony to how far an addict will go to get the next high. 36-year old Scott Horn was here in Florida last year with his grandparents and was evicted from the senior park Village Green, after he had multiple problems with his addiction to drugs. Then he came back. He said he was sober.
Detectives say Horn admits to stealing some of his grandparents Percocet. When they confronted him Horn got violent. He beat them nearly to death, strangling his own elderly grandmother, Horn then fled.

Horn was found sleeping nearby in the woods–high from pain pills. A judge set bail at $300,000. Horn’s grandfather is expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday in Vero beach. His grandmother is in the Lawnwood trauma center with a broken neck, 6 broken ribs, and a broken spine.
