Two New Exciting Camps Come to the Oxbow

The Oxbow Eco-Center will host two new exciting summer camps next month. Oxbow Adventure Camp will thrill the outdoor enthusiast, and BioEYES Camp is perfect for the blossoming scientist.  There is still space available in these fun and engaging experiences.

Oxbow Adventure Camp will be held Tuesday, June 6 through Friday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to ages 12-16. Certified instructors will introduce hobbies to last a lifetime in this high-adventure experience.  Activities include paddle boarding, kayaking, archery, fishing, basic survival skills and more. Participants will learn and enjoy these skills while exploring St. Lucie County’s fabulous nature preserves.  In addition, the camp features Leave No Trace principles, easy to remember ways to help the environment while having fun in it. The cost for this camp is $140 per camper.

BioEYES Science Camp is scheduled for Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open for ages 7-14.  BioEYES camp is a science immersion experience where campers become junior scientists. Working with microscopes and live organisms, they will breed zebrafish, raise the resulting embryos and gain an understanding of fish life cycles and developmental biology. In addition campers will learn about aquatic habitats, wetlands and watersheds. The cost for this camp is $175 per camper.

These are just two of the many day camps taking place at the Oxbow Eco-Center this summer.  To see a comprehensive listing, or to register for a camp, please visit www.oxboweco.com.  For more information, please call 772-785-5833.
