Jensen Beach Leads in Innovative Ways to Engage Citizens

Treasure Coast, Florida; February 23, 2016 – website, linking businesses and citizens from North Brevard County to Southern Palm Beach County, announces a new advice column to feature local psychotherapist and consultant, Darcy Flierl, CAP, LCSW.

Mrs. Flierl, who operates a private counseling practice and consulting firm in Stuart, will answer questions for residents who write in across the Treasure Coast, Space Coast and Palm Coast regions.  The column will focus on questions pertaining to issues effecting families, from parenting, addiction, divorce, aging parents, as well as anxiety, grief and depression and more.

Before beginning her private practice, Mrs. Flierl held Senior Management positions for two local non profits.  She served as the Director of Programs for SafeSpace, Inc., the Treasure Coast’s only certified Domestic Violence Center and is responsible for creating the first department solely dedicated to preventing risky youth behaviors in partnership with Tykes & Teens, a community mental health center located in Palm City.  She has also been honored to be named rising star-2013 and nominated for a Woman of Distinction by local woman’s group, Soroptimist of Stuart, in 2014.  In 2012, the United Way of Martin County recognized Darcy as a Community Champion.

Mrs. Flierl, is a Martin County local and has lived in Florida since 1980.  She received her Masters of Social Work from Florida State University in 2000 and has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2006 and a certified addictions counselor since 2008.
