TREASURE COAST – Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties are expected during the week of April 14 through April 21, 2017. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the Treasure Coast.

MARTIN COUNTY

Kanner Highway / State Road 76, from Lost River Road to south of Monterey Road

The speed limit on Kanner Highway from Lost River Road to Indian Street has been reduced from 50 MPH to 45 MPH. It will remain at 45 MPH after project completion.
One lane in either direction on Kanner Highway between Lost River Road and Martin County High School (MCHS) may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Monday through Thursday night from 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for drainage work and roadway widening and crane assembly.
The sidewalk of the east side of Kanner Highway just south of MCHS will be intermittently impacted for short periods of time Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with flagmen holding pedestrian traffic so construction vehicles can enter & exit the pond area.
Advance Notice: Starting Monday, April 24 the southbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway between Pomeroy Street and South River Drive will be closed around-the-clock through May 12 for drainage work. Pedestrians will be detoured to the northbound sidewalk along Kanner Highway at Indian Street and Pomeroy Street.

I-95 Interchange at Kanner Highway (State Road 76 / Exit 101)

One lane in each direction on Kanner Highway will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for roadway work.

Kanner Highway (State Road 76) from Conners Highway (State Road 15) to West of SW Lake Point Circle

One lane in either direction on Kanner Highway will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 2017 for sign installation. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.

State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard from East of Kanner Highway (State Road 76) to the Martin / Palm Beach County Line
The eastbound lane of SR 710 will be intermittently closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 2017 for barrier wall installation. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.

Martin Highway (State Road 714) I-95 Interchange Landscape Improvements
Intermittent shoulder closures may occur at the Martin Highway I-95 interchange Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through fall 2017.

NE Causeway Boulevard from Indian River Drive to State Road A1A in Jensen Beach
The north sidewalk along NW Causeway Boulevard from Indian River Drive to SR A1A is closed. This sidewalk closure is anticipated to be in place through April 2017. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.

U.S. 1 from SE Heritage Boulevard to SE Seabranch Boulevard in Hobe Sound
One lane in each direction on U.S. 1 will be closed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 12 for construction of turning lanes.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

State Road 70 / Okeechobee Road & Jenkins Road Intersection

One lane in either direction on Okeechobee Road between the I-95 interchange and Kerr Street may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for roadway work.
One lane in either direction on Jenkins Road to the north & south of the Okeechobee Road intersection may be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for roadway work. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.
The sidewalk on the north side of Okeechobee Road from Peters Road to McNeil Road is closed. Pedestrians may cross at the signalized intersections at Peters Road & McNeil Road. This sidewalk closure is anticipated to last through spring 2017.

Indrio Road Widening Project:
The speed limit on Indrio Road between the I-95 interchange and Emerson Avenue has been reduced from 55 MPH to 45 MPH. The speed limit will remain at 45 MPH after project completion.
One lane in either direction on Indrio Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway widening. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.

One lane in either direction on Johnston Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway widening. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.
One lane in either direction on Emerson Avenue may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway widening. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew.

Intermittent flagging operations may occur on Spanish Lakes Boulevard at the new Spanish Lakes Boulevard tie-in Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway construction.
As a part of the current traffic phase, the left-turn lane out of Spanish Lakes Fairways is closed and all motorists leaving the community MUST make a right turn onto Indrio Road. Motorists wanting to head eastbound on Indrio Road should head west on Indrio Road and make a U-turn at the opening after the I-95 overpass.

Starting Wednesday morning, April 19 at 7 a.m. one lane in either direction of Indrio Road at Emerson Avenue will be closed around-the-clock for drainage work. This closure will be picked up no later than Monday morning, April 24 at 7 a.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained by a flag crew and law enforcement will be present.

Advance Notification: Starting Monday, April 24 a new signal will be activated at the Indrio Road and Koblegard Road intersection. This signal will be in flash mode for approximately four (4) days prior to activation on April 24 to notify motorists of this new signalized intersection. Advance notification will also be displayed via message boards as motorists approach the intersection.

I-95 Bridge Deck Replacement Project at Gatlin Boulevard and Midway Road

The inside northbound & southbound lanes on I-95 at the Gatlin Boulevard overpass are closed around-the-clock, with two lanes remaining open in each direction.

The outside northbound & southbound lanes on I-95 at the Midway Road overpass are closed around-the-clock, with two lanes remaining open in each direction.

Westbound and eastbound traffic on Gatlin Boulevard at the I-95 overpass will be reduced to one lane in each direction, shifting traffic to the north or south Sunday through Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for overhead work.

One lane (of two) in each direction of I-95 at the Gatlin Boulevard overpass will be closed Sunday through Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge work and barrier wall removal.

Midway Road Widening Project, from S. 25th Street to U.S.

One lane in either direction on Midway Road between 25th Street and U.S. 1 may be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction on Oleander Avenue between West 1st Street and just north of Midway Road by Merritt Ditch will be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction on Sunrise Boulevard between West 1st Street and Augusta Street will be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction of 25th St. from 1,200’ north to 500’ south of Midway Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

Midway Road Widening Project, from S. 25th Street to U.S. 1
Description: This 1.8-mile project includes: reconstructing the existing two-lane Midway Road to a four-lane, divided highway with a raised median; installing a new signal at Sunrise Boulevard; constructing a new bridge over the North Fork St. Lucie River; constructing a 6-foot sidewalk on the north side and a 12-foot multi-purpose trail on the south side Midway Road;

constructing 4-foot bike lanes on both sides of the roadway; reconstruction of S. 25th Street approximately 1000’ to the south & north of Midway Road; reconstruction of Sunrise Boulevard from W. 1st Street to Charlotta Street; reconstruction of Oleander Avenue from W. 2nd Street to Merritt Ditch; drainage improvements, including constructing 6 retention ponds at 5 locations; and signage, signalization, and lighting improvements.

One lane in either direction on Midway Road between 25th Street and U.S. 1 may be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction on Oleander Avenue between West 1st Street and just north of Midway Road by Merritt Ditch will be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction on Sunrise Boulevard between West 1st Street and Augusta Street will be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flag crew.
One lane in either direction of 25th St. from 1,200’ north to 500’ south of Midway Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic.

N. 25th Street from St. Lucie Boulevard (County Road 608) to U.S. 1.
Description: This 1.169-mile project includes: milling and resurfacing of N. 25th Street / SR 615; constructing new sidewalk on both sides of road from where existing sidewalk ends to U.S. 1; constructing 6-foot buffered bike lanes in each direction; rebuilding handicap ramps throughout project limits at qualifying locations; upgrading signs and pavement marking, and upgrading pedestrian signal control buttons and adding countdown timers at the St. Lucie Boulevard / N. 25th Street and U.S. 1 / N. 25th Street intersections.

One lane in each direction of 25th Street will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 2017.

Port St. Lucie Boulevard between Floresta Drive and Addison Street in Port St. Lucie
Traffic Impact:
One eastbound lane of Port St. Lucie Boulevard will be closed Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work.

Port St. Lucie Boulevard between Floresta Drive and Allen Street in Port St. Lucie
Traffic Impact:
One eastbound lane of Port St. Lucie Boulevard will be closed Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for drainage work.

U.S. 1 between Avenue E and Avenue F in Ft. Pierce
Traffic Impact:
One northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work.

Kings Highway at Indrio Road in Ft. Pierce
Traffic Impact:
One southbound lane of Kings Highway will be closed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for drainage work.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
I-95 (SR 9) from just north of State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach to the Indian River/Brevard County Line

Traffic Impact:
·               Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes.
·               The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.
·               Periodic lane closures will occur on I-95 from north of SR 60 to the Indian River/Brevard County line Sunday through Thursday both northbound and southbound from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
·               Southbound I-95 traffic from MM 156.5 to MM 155.8 is shifted to the new section of the CR-512 Bridge.
·               Northbound I-95 traffic is shifted to the southbound lanes from MM 154 to MM 154.8.
·               Northbound I-95 traffic is shifted over to the northbound lanes from MM 156 to end of project at MM 160.
·               Nighttime barrier wall removal is planned for southbound I-95 north of CR 512 from Monday, April 17 to Thursday, April 20, weather and production permitting.

Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass

This project is anticipated to begin on April 26. All lanes are open.
