Treasure Coast Theatre presents Proof, a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about a young woman coming to terms with her own mental health after the death of her brilliant but unstable father.
Catherine is a troubled young woman who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable mathematician father, abandoning her own dreams as a result. Following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions and sanity; the arrival of her estranged sister; and the attentions of her father’s former student, who hopes to find valuable work in the notebooks that her father left behind.
Proof received two Drama Desk Awards, three Tony Awards – including for Best Play, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play was also made into a major motion picture with Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Hope Davis.
Treasure Coast Theatre is a fairly new theatre located at 10175 South Federal Highway, Port St. Lucie, FL in the Town Centre Shopping Plaza. The theatre can accommodate 55 theatergoers, including up to 4 wheelchairs.
