Tonight is the Regional Semifinals for high school football. Martin County is on the road taking on District rival Viera. The Tigers will try to avenge a 55-24 loss from earlier this season. Both teams are 8-2 overall, but Viera is the defending state runner-up and are ranked 8th in Class 7A by the Associated Press.
Treasure Coast is also on the road taking on Vero Beach, who is ranked 3rd in Class 8A in the final AP poll. Treasure Coast is 7-3, Vero Beach is 10-0. Vero Beach won their earlier matchup 35-14, and are 6-0 against Treasure Coast under head coach Lenny Jankowski.
Sebastian River is hosting Mainland, ranked #1 in Class 6A and #3 overall in the state of Florida. And St. Edward’s is playing St. Stephen’s Episcopal in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference: Florida Bowl 3. A win would make St. Edward’s the only 2-time champion in the league’s 9-year history.
