Treasure Coast Community Update
TreasureCoast, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Merry Christmas! If you are still in need of getting some last minute shopping in you have a little bit of time left. The Treasure Coast Square Mall, Indian River Mall, and Vero Beach Outlets are all scheduled to be open today, but will close at 6pm and not open again until Thursday.
Trash will be collected in St Lucie or Martin Counties today, but there will not be any collection tomorrow, Christmas Day.
In St Lucie County your trash and recycling will be delayed until your next regularly scheduled time. In Martin County, everything will be pushed back one day. So anyone normally scheduled on Wednesday will be picked up on Thursday, Thursday pickups will be done on Friday, and Friday pickups on Saturday. Stuart trash will be largely unaffected, except for Wednesday’s Multi-Family recycling and Wednesday’s bulk trash route both being picked up on Thursday.
The Treasure Coast Connector and the MARTY bus will both have no service Christmas Day. Libraries in Martin and St Lucie counties are closed today and tomorrow. And most government facilities will be closed today and tomorrow, except for the St Lucie Clerk of Court’s office, which lists the 25th and the 26th as the days they are closed. Courts will also only be closed on Christmas Day. And of course the schools are out on winter break. Classes for both counties are scheduled to resume on January 3rd.
And if you are heading out to a holiday party this week, make sure you have a plan so that you do not drink and drive. Ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft make it easier than ever to go out, have a good time, and still get home safe.
Stay safe and Happy Holidays to all!
